Two posts in one weekend ... who would have believed it possible! Rebecca and I took on a 600+ Lego project this past weekend to gauge her interest in building projects. She is an amazing child. We've enjoyed watching her grow up over the years and explore different interests - sports, reading, math, dance, and a myriad of other activities. She is gifted with a strong personality - one could even call it stubbornness. I of course believe it comes from Christy mostly, but everyone seems to laugh when I say that - so maybe I might have a little something to do with it - maybe.

One of the things we love about our neighborhood is the annual July 4th parade and celebration. Rebecca has been a part of the festivities for the past 5 years or so, and Luke made his first appearance this summer. Another special memory for the family is Grandaddy Roland coming up from San Antonio to join in the celebration. The events kick off at 9AM with a neighborhood parade - all the kids decorate their bikes, helmets, cars, or other mode of transportation. The local fire engine leads off the short trek, and everyone turns out to cheer the kids on as they ride around.

This past week, the Schooler's took a little road trip north to Dallas for an extended weekend / camp / date night / business trip / birthday party. The schedule kicked off Tuesday with the beginning of the annual "Gigi and Pappa" camp - this year upgraded to "Gigi, Pappa, and Mimi" camp. The Luke-ster remains ineligible for participation as he does not meet the "potty" trained criteria - ouch. A disappointment for sure for the little man, but he rallied and crashed the party Thursday afternoon.
